Meet greg Marchbanks
Greg Marchbanks launched his career at Century Development Corporation, a prominent commercial real estate development firm in Houston, before joining Prime Cable in the early 1980s. He rose through the company to CEO, leading a strategic expansion beyond cable television into a diversified private equity portfolio. Following the sale of Prime's cable assets in 2000, Greg continues to serve on the three-member board overseeing the company’s private equity portfolio.
The Marchbanks Company marked Greg's return to real estate and private equity with renewed focus on experiential placemaking. In 2006, he partnered with Liz Lambert—creator of Austin's iconic Hotel San Jose—and Bill Gernstein to establish Bunkhouse Group. Under their leadership, Bunkhouse became synonymous with award-winning, culture-driven hospitality before its acquisition by Hyatt Hotels in 2024. Today, Greg and The Marchbanks Company continue to develop hospitality projects in partnership with Bunkhouse and other hospitality management groups.
Meet Bill Gernstein
Bill Gernstein brings decades of strategic finance leadership to his role as President of Marchbanks Company, a position he has held since 2003. With expertise spanning mergers and acquisitions, financial structuring, and corporate development, Bill has shaped transformative growth across media, telecom, software, real estate, and hospitality.
At the Marchbanks Company, Bill co-founded the hotel management company Bunkhouse Group and led the development and acquisition of distinctive hospitality properties that define the portfolio today. Before joining Marchbanks, Bill served as CFO of HealthAnswers, Inc. and held corporate development leadership roles at Reynolds and Reynolds Company and SBC Communications, Inc. (now AT&T). His work has encompassed over $2 billion in M&A and financing transactions, bringing both capital discipline and creative vision to complex deals. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Indiana University and an MBA from Washington University.

Meet Natalie Marchbanks Dolling
Natalie Marchbanks began her career in publishing at Penguin Random House in New York before transitioning to marketing and sales within the travel and lifestyle sector. In 2013, she relocated to London to join Abercrombie & Kent, where she served as Marketing Coordinator and Sales Manager in the company's New Businesses division. During this time, she deepened her understanding of design and the built environment through coursework at the University of the Arts London.
Natalie returned to Austin in 2016 and joined the Marchbanks Company, where she immediately immersed herself in development work on The Commodore Perry Estate and, later, the Hotel Saint Augustine—two projects that would forge and refine her approach to experiential design. Today, she leads design and experiential direction across the Marchbanks portfolio.
Natalie is also co-founder of Arthur Real Estate, a multi-family investment and development company.
